Here in the middle of the forest, below the Schauinsland, high above Günterstal, she was once at home: Hot Paula. She had many loyal fans. And so Paula has become a legend.

Scharfe Paula is a dish that became famous with the St. Valentin forest restaurant. The original recipe was taken to her grave by the landlady Susanna Trenkle, who died in 2001. But you can still order the “Hot Paula”, a pork cordon bleu without breading with a fiery tomato sauce and brägele, even today. It’s simply part of the tradition.
